VILLA SALICONE BRIEF HISTORY

At the beginning of the 19th century Michele Sozzifanti, heir of a noble family coming from the city of Pistoia, and his wife Caterina started works on the building which would became their holiday villa outside the Pistoia city walls.

In 1926 the Captain Polastri, a personality of that time, bought the Villa and with his wife Lilith Klein Chevalier, a very highly educated woman, lived there until 1950. Mrs Polastri was german and had a special love for playing piano.

The actual owners,Mrs Ilaria and Nicoletta Niccoli, inherited the villa from his father who bought it in 1950.

The Niccoli family has collected a historic archive of the tenor Egisto Niccoli and his family at the villa.
